THE UNTAMED DREAMER

A 12-week journey to build the steadiness, clarity, and self-trust to move beyond anxiety, overwhelm, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome, while expanding your capacity to be seen, earn, and thrive in your work or calling – without abandoning your nervous system along the way.

It takes a dreamer to know one.

I read and teach the language of the body – the subtle sensations and rhythms that reveal truths beyond thought or story. Through somatic coaching and mind-body practices, I help women recognise the glint in their eye, the pulse of a vision that won’t let go, and the courage to keep chasing it. Together, we build the capacity to check in with yourself before the impulse to disconnect takes over, using nervous system regulation to soften transitions, ease overwhelm, and ground you in presence. By tuning into how your body holds stress, trauma or habitual responses, you’ll develop emotional resilience and a deeper trust in your own knowing. This isn’t just about calming, it’s about reclaiming your wild, untamed expression and giving the untamed dreamer within you the space to breathe, create, and live fully embodied.

I walk the talk.

I know what it’s like to lose touch with your dreams.

I know disconnection, dissociation, and the high-functioning burnout that can mask both. For years, I operated at a relentless pace, working in London, leading remote content teams for travel startups, earning my Master’s in Social and Cultural Anthropology, yet rarely tending to my own needs. Digital overload, the pressure to produce, and the belief I wasn’t doing “enough” became constant companions, even when I was well beyond my capacity.

Anthropology drew me to explore cosmologies, purity, ritual, and shamanism. I leapt into altered states and higher consciousness work before I had the grounding to hold it, sitting with plant medicines including Ayahuasca, San Pedro, and psilocybin. For my MSc research, I spent two months living in an ayahuasca retreat center in the Ecuadorian Andes. The journeys were powerful, but they also left me confused, untethered, and aware of how easy it is to dissociate in the pursuit of awakening.

I’ve known rupture: endings, identity shifts, relocations, careers abandoned, and relationships unravelled. A trip that was meant to last three months became eleven, spanning five countries. I left England to live on a remote island in Panama. For years, I measured my worth by my relationship status, moving from one to the next.

But dreaming — real dreaming — isn’t about escape. It’s about staying. Staying with yourself in the rawness of pain, the uncertainty of change, and the long, slow process of becoming. At 31, after multiple heartbreaks and reinventions, I no longer fear pain; I understand its alchemy.

Today, I am location-independent, roaming the world, single, wild, and free. I teach from lived experience, lead from the heart, and help women do what I had to relearn for myself: to stay rooted in their bodies while stretching toward their next big, wild, untamed dream.

My coaching toolkit

  • Mapping your shaping

Drawing from somatic lineage work like the Strozzi Institute, we acknowledge that our patterns are formed in context — and that healing happens not only within, but between. Together we explore the deep shaping forces that have influenced how you move through the world — from your personal history to your relationship to social structures, institutions, ancestry, land, culture, and spirit.

  • Josephine Platt is a trauma-informed somatic practitioner, trained in nervous system regulation techniques, boundary and conflict skills and parts work.

    Trauma-informed modalities

This coaching weaves together somatic and cognitive practices, including parts work, stress regulation, boundary and conflict skills, and gentle nervous system attunement. It’s rooted in a trauma-informed lens, inviting both safety and agency as we work with what’s alive in your inner world. These tools support real, embodied change — not just mindset shifts.

  • The somatic cycle of change

We move through a cyclical process designed to reconnect you with your body’s knowing: Awareness, Sensing, Feeling, Expression, Articulation, Embodied Insight, and Integration. This isn’t a linear path — it’s a rhythm we return to again and again, deepening your capacity to move from insight to action, from feeling to transformation.

  • Polyvagal Theory

Drawing from the Polyvagal Theory, we identify and work within your unique hierarchy of states — understanding where you are in the nervous system landscape. Learn to harness mobilized energy (rather than be overwhelmed by it) and use it as fuel for creativity, connection, and expansion. This is the play zone: where you can move from protection into play, from coping into creating.

  • Somatics comes from the Greek word soma, meaning “the living body in its wholeness.” It refers to the study and practice of understanding the body as an integrated, sentient experience rather than just a physical structure. The body is viewed as more than a collection of bones, muscles and systems – we see it as a dynamic and interconnected living system that holds emotions, memories and patterns of behavior.

Somatics takes a holistic approach to personal development that integrates the mind, body, and emotions. This method goes beyond traditional talk-based coaching by encouraging embodied practices such as breathwork, mindful movement and grounding techniques. We begin from the place that the mind are interconnected, focusing on understanding how emotions and life experiences are stored and expressed in the body. This practice emphasizes the role of physical sensation and movement in shaping our thoughts, behaviors and overall well-being.

The body is seen as a key resource for insight and change; it is a source of intelligence and self-awareness. By paying attention to bodily sensations, movement and posture, somatics provides insights into how we experience and interact with the world. I’ll guide you to explore bodily sensations, postures and patterns of movement to uncover unconscious habits and emotional blocks. By tuning into the physical body, you can access deeper levels of self-awareness and unlock new possibilities for growth. Somatic practices help release tension, regulate emotions, and cultivate a sense of presence and agency in your life.

  • Polyvagal-informed coaching focuses on helping you work with your nervous system to move out of stress-driven responses and into states of connection, calm and clarity. With training from the Polyvagal Institute, I use insights from polyvagal theory to help you understand how your body’s automatic responses shape your thoughts, emotions and behaviors.

Your nervous system constantly scans your environment, your body and your relationships for cues of safety or danger – without your conscious awareness. These assessments influence your physiological state, which becomes the foundation for patterns like stress, overwhelm or unhelpful habits. Polyvagal-informed coaching works with this system, helping you understand how these patterns emerge and guiding you toward healthier ways of responding.

  • Anthropology taught me how to ask deep, probing questions, understand the complexities of human behavior, and engage with the stories that shape us. These skills are integral to my coaching practice, where I blend the insight of anthropology with the wisdom of somatics to guide you through the transformative process of wild remembrance.

At its core, wild remembrance is about reconnecting to the untamed self – the primal, instinctual energy that is often buried beneath layers of conditioning and societal expectations. It is the practice of returning to your original, embodied truth, a truth that has always existed within you but may have been lost or forgotten in the noise of modern life.

Through somatic practices and embodied awareness, I help you shed the layers of disconnection and return to the rhythms and energies that are uniquely yours. Drawing on ethnographic methods from my anthropology training, I am committed to listening deeply and observing your nonverbal cues, not for research, but to reflect back the wisdom stored in your body. My role is to help you uncover insights and recognize patterns, guiding you toward deeper understanding and self-awareness.

Together, we will explore the ancestral knowledge that pulses through your cells and the deep intuitive knowing that’s always been there. Wild remembrance isn’t just a return to something from the past – it’s a powerful, embodied reawakening to the untamed force within you, the part of you that knows how to move, speak, create, and live in alignment with your deepest self.

By combining anthropological insight and somatic embodiment, I create a space where you can safely reclaim your voice, express your wildness, and step fully into your power. In this space, you will remember not just who you are, but who you’ve always been, and from there, create the life you were meant to live.
